Agenda Item: Water Crisis in Africa and its Impact on Children

The water crisis in Africa has a crucial impact on children living in Africa. The majority of the children usually suffer from infections such as diarrhea, cholera, and typhoid as a result of consuming contaminated or inadequate water supplies. These diseases are some of the leading causes of child death in Africa. Children, especially girls, have to walk long distances to access clean water sources, so they have difficulty going to school and are deprived of education. Additionally, in areas with insufficient water, children become more vulnerable to infections and malnutrition due to lack of hygiene. These chain effects created by the water crisis negatively affect the physical and mental development of children and threaten their future.
