Agenda Item: Smuggling in Thailand

Since Thailand is a significant transit point in Southeast Asia, it is a center for illegal activities such as human, drug, and wildlife trafficking and so much more. While human trafficking occurs, especially through migrant workers and refugees, these people are often subjected to abuses such as forced labor trafficking. Drug trafficking is also a big problem due to the area known as the Golden Triangle; methamphetamine and other drugs produced here are distributed to the world through Thailand. Wildlife trafficking involves illegal animal trade, which damages the ecosystem and causes international pressure. So how do we prevent this? That is the question.
